FAQs

Below are some questions that many business owners often ask about web design with Webflow;

What is professional web design?

Professional web design is when you pay an expert to design and build a high-performing website that'll help you reach your online business goals.

There are so many platforms available on the internet that enable business owners to build their own website.

However, although the prospect of not paying for a website is nice, there are issues with building one yourself.

The first issue is that most business owners don't have enough time to do this. As a result, many web projects often get started and not finished.

The second issue is that, although you may finish building your website, you have most likely overlooked some of the most important factors that determine the success or failure of your business; factors such as SEO, CRO and site architecture.

No idea what these mean? A professional web designer does!

A website designed by an accomplished and able professional should be built to represent your business, easy to navigate, optimised for search engines and tailored specific to your customers needs.

How much does a professional web designer cost?

There is no set cost for professional web design. Some professional charge by the hour while most professionals will charge by the project.

Hourly rates can range between £50-150. Although I don't charge by the hour, any more than £150/hour is too much in my opinion.

Project rates are determined by the scope of the website, which includes the size, complexity and design requirements.

What should a small business website have?

Since this will be your business' online headquarters, your website should have a clear, concise and accurate description of the company.

It should also have an overview of the products and services offered, along with a contact form and phone number. This will make it easy for potential customers to contact you.

If you have a physical location where customers can visit, this should be included also.

The website should also have a navigation system which makes it easy for visitors to find the information they require easily and quickly.

All content on the website should be optimised for SEO. This enables search engines like Google to come along and list your site on their search results pages.

How long does it take to design a website?

Designing a website can take anywhere from two weeks to six months. It all depends on the size and complexity of the project.

For example, if your project is a single page portfolio or online CV, it can be designed within a week and built in the next week.

If your project is a little more complex an requires a lot of pages and custom code, you can expect the process to take a lot longer.

If you're considering a website built by Metabrand, don't worry; I will let you know beforehand how long we can expect the project to take. Then, you can make a decision whether to proceed or not.

Does my business need a website?

A website is an essential component of any business.

It is often the first thing that a potential customer sees and it is the first impression that your company creates for them.

Even if you don’t do any business online, the internet is most often the first place people go to when they’re searching for local, offline businesses or services.

For this reason, it’s important to have a well-built website for your business.
